I thought a few members would be interested on this TURBO MONTE SS

Vehicle Description

2002 Chevy Monte Carlo SS Dale Earnhardt Special Edition. It has every option. It is a great running car. I took the superchager off and put a turbocharger on it. It runs 12.5 in the quarter. It will spank a Mustang for all you Chevy guys. It has a new set of tires less than a hundred miles on them. It is El Dorado, Ks. I am willing to deliver for a small fee, or you can come pick it up. We can discuss that later. I have had it for about 10,000 miles. I gave it a tune up every 2,000 miles. I am the second owner. It has a pillar gauge but only the boost gauge is hooked up. I'll keep search'in & dream'in, until I find the

right one to fill my empty `Space.

But it can be a dangerous `ride when you get picked `up

by a 99 year old senior : ) I can run faster, then some of them drive : )

The owner is correct in the fact it is the 2002. You can see that from the trim package BUT it did not have a supercharger on it. Only 04/05 had them. You can clearly see the standard intake manifold for the 3800 NA engine in the picture above. Turbo's use the SuperCharger housing as the Plenum.

BUSTED!!!!

that did not have the correct engine in the Monte.

I was waiting for `Keegan to catch this when he read `it.

That's what I thought 'cause mine's not supercharged. Was beginning to think I was missing something.

That's what I thought 'cause mine's not supercharged. Was beginning to think I was missing something.

The 2002's only came with the 3800 NA engine. Very good setup by the way.

When I first read this I was wondering what was going on, Cuz I thought for sure there was no stock Supercharger in 02 (which I don't know why it took them so long, considering the history with Pontiacs).

Anyway I was thinkin just a turbo dropped it to 12.5 in the quarter, where do i find one of these turbos?...lol

I know that for years up until Pontiac changed to the "G series", GM marketed Pontiac as their sporty line of vehicles.

I suspect GM didn't put the supercharger into the Monte's until '04 because they wanted the performace minded people to buy the Grand Prix. When sales of the Monte went down, they put the s/c in to boost sales.

Very possible. I'm not sure how many engines the factories have stored up but they might have just decided to go with the Gen V supercharger on the 2004 GP's and got rid of their "overstock" on the Monte to also boost sales.
