Hey guys, I'm thinkin about something and I can't seem to get a straight answer on this, so I figured I'd post it.

My G/f has a 2005 Impala 3.4 V6

and

I have a 2005 Monte Carlo 3.8 V6

I'm going to be doing exhaust work on my car soon, and I was wondering....would my 3.8 exhaust fit her Impala, and also, would she see ANY gain from going from the 3.4 single muffler system to the 3.8 dual muffler system? Please advise. Thanks!

yep the exhaust should fit no prob. i doubt there will be much gain from the system deff sound better! but the main flow restrictions are the Cat, down pipe, Ubend, and resonators. and they are the same between both systems. i say swap them! and have the shop cut out the Ubend in each system that will deff help you out!

cool, i already have the U-bend deleted on a stock downpipe with the stock cat. I will have the stock resonator, but on a 3.4 changing the resonator and the cat isn't going to gain that much anyways.

What are you guys doing for the resonators these days?

LOL seems like the LT's aren't a bigger hit around here, LOL. Yeah I'm starting to work on mine again. What have you done on yours thus far?

All I have so far is a K&N air filter and a Clarion 6 disc CD changer w/ FM modulator. My wife says that I have to finish all the home improvements before I can do anything to the car. She's one of those types that says..."there's nothing wrong with the wheels it has now, why would you change them?" Window tint is about the only mod that "makes sense" to her. Drives me nuts!!

So, I am salivating to start modding. Inhale and exhale will be my first mods, then I hope to do the wheels. I really want to go the route of a turbo. If you see my sig pic, I did a little drawing of my styling desires. I had a thread that talks about the specifics.

Check it out here

Looks great! I'm starting to get back around to it, I've gotten the K&N in, but now it's exhaust time.

LOL! I have a B.A. in Psych, too, and I buy that argument.
But then, I guess that's because I don't have ovaries.
