06-07 Owners....

Who has factory pin stripes on their car?

I only ask this because my knephews have been noticing all Monte's on the road here in SoCal and they report back that they have never seen another car with pin stripes.

I never saw pinstripes offered as a factory option online or in dealer literature,including those big showroom guides with paint samples and all.I would think either they were dealer or owner installed.

I remember a thread here about how someone didn't like the tape style pin stripes on their car.  Don't know if it was factory or owner installed though.
 
All I know is that my car has them.
 
Cain, what do you know about factory pinstripes?

Space, I like them.  I didn't even notice them when I bought the car.  The main thing is that my knewphews like it.  They say it makes the car stand from other Monte's so I'm happy.

Yeah.. I havent found an RPO code for one yet.. I do like them, but Im doing the debate on my lazer blue monte.. Stripes.. or pin stripes...
 

The Chevy Dealership in the town next to mine adds the pinstrips and the word MonteCarlo at the end of the stripe on the side of the car. They charged an extra 300 bucks for this detail. Next time I'm down there I will stop by and take a picture of it. They also do this to the Impala.

I don't think I've seen another '06 or '07 Monte with pinstripe on it?
 
I put some on mine, but I had to do it myself.
 
And I'd LOVE to have the duel racing stripes on my '06 Monte. :]

Once again RJ, if I had a silver LTZ or LT3, I would put rally stripes on.
 
Reminds me of my maroon '67 Camaro RS I once had.

pinstripes, the small stripes on half the cars on the road are dealer installed items.  the 06-07 rally stripes like the old cars were a GM option.

So I do have at least one mod on my car..keewwl!

We vacation in Florida in February, and I notice that the local Chev dealer, not only adds pin stripes to almost all the stock vehicles, thsy also add a narrow chrome moulding to most vehicles wheelwells.

Almost like the pinstripe on my '86 LS Monte.
 
I've been telling my g/f Deb I need to pinstripe the '06 like the '86 so they resemble each other more. But with me wanting the rally stripes on the '06 I feel adding the more pinstripe on the car may be overkill?

Yeah, one or the other is my opinoin too.

those stripes look great on ur ride solaraslayer!  follows the body lines perfectly.  i have 2 agree w/u guys about the 06-07 resemblance to the 84-88's.  those side body lines i believe are there to bring back a touch of the old.  everything else gm is doing has that sorta flair.  a guy the other day saw our 06 and said the exact same thing.  i love it!

We went to a local cruise-in this evening. Setting in the parking lot was an '07 Monte (had the Flex Fule badge on it).
 
It too has pinstriping like your Monte does. But it's not an '06 like your car.

Yep, I've got the pinstripes, but they're different then yours SolaraSlayer, mine are a lighter silver than the paint and a bit different in styling, if I can manage to get the camera from my sister sometime before I leave (Wendsday) I'll get some pictures, you can kinda see them in my sig if you look close enough, but of course you can only tell that I have a body colored windsheild banner if you know that you're looking for it. I need to re-do my sig with my new tips :)

Pinstripes are dealer installed options and not available from the factory from GM.  I'm considering adding them to my white LTZ.  Possibly a color combo of silver metallic, red metallic, and black metallic.  Just haven't decided yet.

thanks for the vote....I appreciate it.  Gotta get some cash together cause I think I'm going to have mine painted on rather than tape.

I think pin stripping will make the car look great if you dont over do it and if you follow the body lines.
My 03 SS was Berry Red, with tan pinstripes. I did not like it only because of the way they where put on
 
I have been thinking about pinstripping the LTZ,
Which I own a kit that I got many years ago (before clear coat paint came out),
I have not used it on anything with clear coat. So I dont know how it will hold up.
 
Pinstripping tape does not cost that much and it is easy to do.

Well you are all welcome to follow my lines unless you have a different idea.
