Son has a 2000 Monte Carlo LS and was going down the road the other night and it shut off. It had power when I went to help him but would only click one time when you turned the key. I put a new battery in it and same thing, 1 click. I then put a new starter in it and still 1 click. I can turn the pulleys so engine isn't locked up, only has 60000 mile on it. When you turn on the key it has security in the message center like it is still in security mode, which disables the starter, could it be the security module? When you turn the key it will click and battery shows in the message center then switches back to security. Where is this module located? Any help would be appreciated.

Check your owners manual there is something in it that I read, that talks about what happens when the security message shows up when trying to start the car. I seem to recal it saying that the a local dealer should beable to reset it.
However, if it is your modual thats a whole other ball of wax.
