Flowmaster 40's

I found this Monte on youtube.....it is an LS with flowmaster 40's and no resonator......i think it sounds GREAT for a 3400.  i messaged him to figure out his full setup....i will post that if he messages me back.

i really really have to find a sound i love though...and i haven't heard that yet...the 3.4 almost sounds better with the flowmasters on it than the 3.8 does

Let me know what his setup is cause when i went to get mine done i was told that magnaflow was coming out with a dual model designed for the mc ls to be converted frpom single pipe to duals.

magnaflow is coming out with a cat-back for the 3400 and 3800 but you are looking ar around $850....i dont know about you....but thats out of my range.
 
i wanna know what it sounds like from inside.  i would like to have 40's.....but i dont want that rumble while im going down the highway b/c i do a lot of traveling.  i want something that will be quiet when im not accelerating.

he messaged me back.....dual flowmasters 40 series......straight pipe in place of resonator.......stock cat and no u-bend delete.

I had no resonator for 3 days and than put a glasspack in.  Its way too loud on highway speeds, and super loud on idle and driving around.  I got pulled over for a noise violation.  Interior noise is disgusting

Yeah, I'm keeping my resonator in for those same interior noise problems.  Those 40's sound great though.

they dont get quieter at higher speeds, they get quieter at lower RPM's. The higher the RPM, the louder they get. I have them on my 86 Z/28 and even at 2,000 RPM on the freeway they are pretty loud, but I love them. Don't know about on a V6 though...

i have 2 40 series flows and a res delete high flow cat and it sounds frieken awesome, i will make a new vid tomorrow and get it online for yall to hear

the 3100 and the 3400 are quiet at higher rpms and louder at lower rpms. you can straight pipe it completely and itll be loud at cruisin/ driving and idle, but at wot its not as loud as you would think.

oh yeah btw i got a new diggy cam since then and this one records onto dvds in HD format so yeah ill hafta redo it... stereo sound too

yah, my dad has one of those camera's, really cool to play with :)

yeah i hate how i got it but i aint gonna turn a offer down.. 800x zoom too hmmm i wonder what ill record next

I got one...  their nice to have for vacations and stuff,   but just so you know,  they record onto the camera in a screwed up format,  so youll be doing a lot of converting on your computer to edit anything!  ;)

oh that sux! that would piss me off, why can't people just make one that records in something you dont have to convert

I have a 04 SS, I got two 40 series flowmasters and resonator delete with a straight pipe. I still have the u-bend. It sounds good, but that 3.4 is louder. Mine also is quiet when the RPM's get past 3000. It is not loud on the highway at all. I will try to get a sound clip for it.
