thats an incomplete kit.  you need 4, one for each cylinder.

LOL, maybe they just forgot the "s", but then that would be about right, always something else to buy.

Where do you order these "rebuild kits"? My son needs one now, he just spun 2 bearings in his Honda. Only had 1400 miles on that motor. Now he's trying to decide whether to fix it or buy a motor off a friend that's like the one in the car he sold. He should've kept that one, but he wouldn't listen, now he needs some more hampsters.

1400 miles on a rebuild and spun a bearing? Something ain't right here?

Any warranty on the engine work?

No warranty, he built it. This isn't his first one to build, but it's a first for this to happen. He hasn't taken everything apart yet but thinks it had something to do with the oil pressure (?). He was talking over my head so I'm not exactly sure. I'll find out more later.

He was so ticked I didn't dare mention the "hampsters".

nah, you just need to buy the overpriced kit 4 times... welcome to owning an import.

I was going to say that "I" don't own an import, but darn it, it's in my name, so I guess technically, I do own an import, dang it. LOL

i don't mean to insult his skills, but he must have made a mistake somewhere puting it together.  sounds like he must ahve put the wrong sized bearings in there.  if he had the crank turned at the machine shop, they may have turned the crnak the wrong way.

Cowboy, it's possible, he hasn't completely ruled out something he did, but he doesn't "think" it's something he did. Who knows. If I find out anything, I'll let ya'll know - either way.

Well he's headed up to the Dallas area tomorrow for some new hampsters. Going to get another motor and tranny. Put the dead one up and use it as a project motor.

He talked to several people and they think either the oil pump went out or an oil galley (?) got plugged somehow since 2 went at the same time. I guess he'll find out eventually.
