Hey, Space...bring home lots of candy or else you will have to "Narfel the Garthok!!!"
Our beggar's night was tuesday. We had like 55 beggars. Three were HS boys dressed as girls.
We had one Superman, one Batman, One Spiderman, two Venoms, two Princesses, one Tony Stewart, and others.

What I've seen/heard........
The word Halloween is derived from All Hallo's Eve. A pegan ritual or holiday. Something like that.
I'm sure you can research it on the net. Space? Where are ya guy?
It is a pagan holiday, but All Hallow's Eve is the eve before All Saints Day. The eve before the feast day of all those who are Hallowed (Holy).

November 1st is All Saints day in the Christian church... though not really a celebrated one. October 31'st was "Hallo eve" which somehow over the years became "Halloween". Then somehow or another ghosts, goblins, and flying pumpkins worked their ways into it and it became a "satanist" holiday. The truth is its actually a Christian holiday.
My parents used to get 300 or more beggars on Halloween. Thye told me they got zero the other night. Sad how people have done this to what used to be a special night for kids. (and a lot of grown-ups)

its more or less a drinking holiday now... more for adults
At work it's an excuse for employees to wear their favorite team jersey.
My employer allows employees to wear halloween costumes on halloween. But like I said, most people show up wearing a sports team jersey. When asked what they're supposed to be, the answer is always, "I'm a (insert team name here) fan!"
How original.
Where I work, the favorite Halloween costume seems to be the UPS uniform?
Oh wait!!! That's their every day uniform.
