No Crank No Start

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody had a problem occure where their car would power up, fuel pump kick on, guage cluster come on everything is fine but i get no crank at all. Ill keep messing with the ignition turning it on and off and eventually it will start. When its cold outside its fine. Once its warm, Ill get a no crank. Power still comes on. You can hear the solenoid trying to activate. Do you think the starter may be heat soaked? Any sugestion would be greatly appreciated. I just put a brand new Postive cable on and a Yellow top Optima. The problem is getting very annoying.... Thank you for you time. My car is a 2002 Chevy Monte SS.

Sounds to me like the starter switch itself. I had a 99 regal gs s/c and it did that. Ended up costing almost $600 to have it repaired.
