Can you TRULY over wax your car, and here is why.

We were slow today, so I pulled my car into one of the detail bays and rinse the car off, sprayed on some Meguiar's Quik Detailer while the car was wet and then towel dried it off.  I got like a haze (fog like look), so I pulled out some Meguiar's wax cleaner and then put a coat of NXT Generation Tech wax.  That haze is still there, like I have wax on it that is still wet.  No swirls, No scratches, just this wet looking haze (fog like).

So, is it wrong to mix Carnauba wax with the synthetic NXT???  or can you just have to much of a good thing?

Depending on how you guys answer, I'm planning to wash the car tomorrow morning with Dawn Dishsoap to strip all the wax off and start fresh.  Good idea or no?

I don't know if you can overwax, but I did my first wax job in 10 years and I overdid it on mine.  Took forever to buff.

you've probably put too much wax on it now, you'll need to clay bar it down probably..thats probably where the haze came from

I'd try to clay bar the area first as well. See if it helps remove the haze?

One thing. Using a wax in the hot sun or on hot car paint can cause issues. I know I've made the mistake of waxing a hot car before (I mean hot paint) and could not get the dried wax off. (where's Ralph Macchio when you need him right?)

Quik Detailer/ Final Inspection... they dont mix with water.  Thats the original cause of the haze imo.  All the other products prolly couldnt do their job due to the detailer/water mix underneath.

When I got my 06 ss the first thing I did was take it to get paint sealent put on. After about a month I started to use the Meguiars Deep Crystal step 3 car polish. (very lightly) and the car is great looking. Plus my car is Silver so it does hide the dirt. One other thing, after doing this I have not scrubed the car while washing. Spray at the car wash then shamy.
