Where do you find the Paint Code on a 04 Monte LS ... and, once you have the Code ... How do you find-out what they call the Color?

Take the last 8 of your VIN to the dealer and ask a parts guy to bring it up for you...lol. I'm not sure where to find paint codes though, sorry.

yea the parts guys can bring it up for ya through the parts catalogue. sometimes it's listed on the drivers door where the latch connects to the body. i've seen the same sticker stuck to the trunk lid as well (where it is on my car along with tire pressure, max load, max towing capacity, etc.)

I found it! BC/CC U822K 52B.
The U822K is the Color Code. Light Capuchino Metallic Clearcoat.
Couch has it. The paint code will be listed on the tag attached to the trunk lid.
What code it is, I can't say? Not sure if the location of the paint code changes positions on the tag with each generation or not either?

Cappuccino Frost Metallic Clearcoat!!!
That's me! Right there. Cappiccino Frost Metallic Clearcoat. I don't know if I should go to NAPA and have them mix me a quart ... or, ... head-on over to Starbuck's and order me a Large, with two Splenda's and a touch of whipped cream!
I have the Code. I know the Color. Now I have to swing a deal on one of those unpainted spoilers that have on eBay, this Month. They aren't the Surfboard-type. They're the Pace Car kind and they come right from the mold. No Paint. No Primer. No nuthin'! Just a naked spoiler for the Do It Yourself Monte Guy. I can handle it! I just have to find the dough to get me one.
I have the 2004 Monte Carlo brochure that came from the dealership.
The page with the exterior colors lists them as follows. The number next to the name is the listed color number.
15 - Sandstone Metallic
41 - Black
22 - Superior Blue Metallic
74 - Victory Red
88 - Medium Gray Metallic
40 - White
87 - Berry Red Metallic
34 - Competition Yellow
97 - Cappuccino Frost Metallic
12 - Galaxy Silver Metallic

That's the highly-exotic sounding, very special-special name that Chevy's best marketing executives got together and after much consternation and gnashing of teeth, decided it would call the light brown 2004 Monte Carlo's bearing this paint scheme instead of just saying Beige!
You gotta love it.
My car ain't just Beige, ... it's:
Cappuccino Frost Metallic Clearcoat!!!

lol well i guess ill just shut up then lol
Wonder why Galaxy Silver Metallic was changed to Silverstone Metallic? (Or a close resemblence to the Galaxy Silver)
Looking at the sales brochure, they are two different colors.
Galaxy Silver Metallic is your classic silver color.
Sandstone Metallic looks to be a darker, and slightly more brownish version of Rick's car color (Cappuccino Frost Metallic).

No, the sandstone metallic is the bronze-ish colour. RJ means SILVERstone Metallic is what replaced Galaxy Silver Metallic. I cannot see a difference between them. Mine is Silverstone (2005) and I have sat it right next to a 2002 Galaxy Silver, I cannot see any difference at all.

Hey Rick, check out the classified on the MCF. Last I saw one for $70. As of the 3/10/08 it was still available.
