Hey guys,

I have a 2002 LS, and I want to clean up my rims (they're stock btw). I was wondering if the LS has aluminum alloy rims? or steel? I am asking because I am hearing a bunch of horror stories of guys washing and polishing their rims with the wrong products, and messing up big time.

Here are the stock ones I am talkn about.

i have an SS, but i use chrome polish on mine, they always come out bright and shiny, and very clean, even though they are not chrome.

Be careful, most factory rims over the last 20 years have been plastic coated.

If they have been well kept, simple non anomia window cleaner works best.

If they haven't been well kept, look up a mile Eagle One rim cleaner for platic coated rims.

Like Dave said and I think those are plasic coated as well from the pic.  I would just use window cleaner like Windex or something.

And then think of upgrading the rims.

MHT does make an awesome wheel but to call them reasonably priced makes me feel like one poor s.o.b. I, for some reason, can't see the pic in the first post but with you guys saying "plastic coated" I think you're talking about clear coated wheels. Wheel polish will work on these but if you go at it too hard you will eat through the clear & it will start to turn white. If that happens we tell people to get them glass bead blasted or buy new ones. Chrome polish works great on chrome or polished wheels but clear coated wheels are best cleaned with a mild soap & water. For bad break dust on clear wheels use the polish for the chunks or get ceramic pads.
