The Trippiest Optical Illusions on the 'Net


(You don't have to smoke anything or take LSD : )


This silhouette wins the award for coolest thing we've seen all day -- and it's not just because the tiny dancer above is in the buff. This is a little test that will tell you whether the left or right hemisphere of your brain is more dominant.

Instead of concentrating on her chest, concentrate on the woman's movement. If you see her spinning clockwise, that means you're using the right side, or more creative side of your brain. If she appears to be moving counter-clockwise, then that means the left side, or more logical side of your think muscle is superior.

At the Switched office, some of us see her going clockwise, others see her spinning counter-clockwise. At least one of us claims to see both, while another one of us opened this animation in Adobe ImageReady in order to isolate the frames to see if there's any direction-changing funny business going on. There isn't.

It's so difficult for me to be doing my school work when I have
this spin'in girl dancing around on my screen : )
To me she is spin'in to the `right : )
Which way is she spin'in for you ?

she is spinning to the right for me... .althought one time i scrolled down to read some of your post and scrolled back up... she was going left, i scrolled back down and back up... the was going right again.... weird

She's spinning clockwise to me too.  I tried to see if I could get her to spin counter-clockwise, but it didn't work.

I'm with Cowboy... It was spinning clockwise... someone called me... then it was spinning counter-clockwise, started reading the text, went back up and it was spinning clockwise.   But the shadow spins counter clockwise

yes.. now that you mention it the shadow spins in teh opposite direction of the girl.  i looked at teh girl this time after you metnioned it, and she was spinning to the left, her shadow to the right, when i glanced up from her shadow, hse was moving to the right once again.  very strange thing you dug up there space

It worked.
 
I tried looking at the shadow first, and now she spins to the left.

She's spinning clockwise to me. But when I first looked at the image sheappeared to be spinning counter-clock. And I did look at the image again. Her shadow does appear to be spinning counter-clockwise while she's spinning clockwise.

I've made her some how to spin left-right-left-right. She would just do a half turn then I loose concentracion and she spins to one side.
