Dear Readers,
I was driving the other day and noticed that i have a weird thumbing noise coming from the left front tire, it seems to be more noticiable when driving slow, any advice as to what it could be??

Is there a chance of something being inside the tire? We had an extra valve stem inside a trailer tire once, but that vibrated the whole truck that was pulling it that it was pretty easy to notice.

If the tire needed balanced, you would feel the tire shaking, not hear it. I would jack up the front of the car and inspect the tire all the way around to make sure nothing is in it.

I once had a tire salesman make a weird thumbing sign at me and he made some strange noise at the same time.

Just kidding.  I'm assuming you meant thumping noise.  It could be a broken belt in the tire, which would make a kind of thumping noise.  Does it increase as you speed up?  If it does, I'd have it checked immediately.  It will basically tear apart at any time, which can be very dangerous at speed.  You can look at it, sometimes it will have a lump or flat spot where the belt is broke.

Sorry to hear about your Pap.
3? loose lugs nuts and on the front too. That could've been a disaster, glad you found it. Did you just have it off? If you took it someplace and they didn't tighten it back up, I'd be sure and pay them a little visit and let the manager know.

Ouch man, three? Sorry about the cancer deal, my grandmother had cancer awhile back bit was lucky enough to pull out of it.

You should probably make sure there aren't anymore loose nuts if you haven't already.

Sorry to hear about your pap.  If it was lug nuts, I would also check the lug studs for damage, because the thumping noise would be the rim hitting on the studs.  You don't want them breaking off.
