yup thtas park lol, and yup sure its the trans i used my mechanics stethoscope and traced it, its coming from the transmission halfway back near where all the gears and plates mesh. i only took the vid in park cos its hard to keep it in gear and walk around it lol.
i also know the tranny is messin up cos it wont always downshift to first gear i hafta floor it and let off for it to drop in and it wont go into reverse from drive i gotta goto park and then reverse to back up

I say bite the bullet, wait the 2 weeks and have them figure it out.
I messed with a few auto transmissions, and I've never heard a noise like that with the car in park. lol

Oh, the good 'ole metallic oil.

When I flattened the cam and blew up my old 350 in my Nova, the oil was so cool looking I wanted to paint the car that color. lol

Sound like all ur thrust bearings are gone, now running metal on metal. Let them mess with it.

I was thinking problem with the input clutch because of previous problems GM has had to issue Tech notes or whatever they call those things. With the 4T60-E anyways. They switched to a thinner friction plate and thicker steels. Also, the input clutch happens to be precisely where the noise is coming from per my conversation with chris earlier. Course there's a lot of bearings in the tranny but seriously, it's only 50K miles old? how in the heck could a bearing be going out...

Could be anything, but I have found out that some places like to reuse the trust bearings if they are still in good shape. But I am a RWD guy not FWD. And Chris thanks. A lot alread did. I have been a member since 05 but forgot about this site until you said something about it.
