1st generation, 1972 Coupe, 355 w/ TH350. Hunter green ext./tan interior with green vinyl top. 15X8 Vette rallyes.
I can supply a pic after I clean it up, I also noticed that the pic under the 1970 heading in the first thread isn't of a 1970 Monte, prolly 73 or 74.

4th gen- 1987 SS Almost completely stock for the time being and a little on the rough side rolling on Camaro Z28 wheels. Bought in 1999 two weeks after she had been stolen off the very lot I purchased her for $3,500

Plans for a full frame-off restoration in the works. I have the vision of what she is to look like at the end of the build but the choice of powerplant and wheels still elude me right now.

Well everybody it finally happened I got my Monte. 1983 Monte Carlo CL.  With a 305, and surprisingly it gets up and goes for only $400.  I found it on saturday tested, on sunday and obviously purchased today. It has minor surface rust which is shocking since i live in Minnesota.  Motor was rebuilt in 04 but the guy i bought it from didnt really know too much on what was rebuilt and to what mileage.  This is my dream car and once i get a good set of pics to post as I fix it up I will post.  But like I said I uber pumped.  Oh and one more thing the reason this is my dream car is beacause I love Monte's and its also my birth year.

....a clipping from ConceptCarz.com:

Unveiled at the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Seventh Generation of Monte Carlo's were showcased as the companion to the Impala sedan. Producing 210 hp (156kW) the base engine is a 3.5 L V6. The SS model utilized the Generation Four small-block V8 in a front wheel drive vehicle for the first time.

Between 2005 and 2006 models, much debate has been raised at to whether a new generation designation is necessary. Though much of the exterior body panels and glass has remained the same, the interior was wholly redesigned for the '06 year. The new interior featured a revamped, ****pit-style instrument panel with a new control center and instrument layout. The seats and console were also revised for this year.

Hi, new guy to the forum. I have a 1987 luxury sport that my father bought new. It was ordered with the 305 4 speed auto, posi rear, f41 suspension, full gauge package, cl interior, medium grey. During the restoration the only change we will be making is installing a 327 to give the car a little more kick. By the way, Is there any way to tell how many monte LS's came with these options? I cant seem to find any optioned this way. Thanks for the info, great site!

GPD,
Thanks for posting the info. I'm sure it will cause many debates on the '06/07 Montes being 6th OR 7th gen Montes.

We plan on keeping keeping the Monte looking stock other then some classic rallye rims. I have always kept my cars stealth as possible right down to a whisper quiet exhuast. We plan on bringing the 327 to 350 H.P. as long as that keeps everything in line for a killer daily driver that runs on pump gas, we are good to go.
