So I do have a set of winter only tires on my car right now, and they worked quite well. Now I have to decide if I want to buy a set of dedicated summer tires for this summer or get some all seasons and just use them in the summer. I probably have another two winters atleast on these tires so whatever I buy it's unlikely that I'll use them all year around.
How about you? What sort of tires do you use?
Any recommendations?

i think i slep threw the blizzards tha twe had here this year.
But i used to have th eall season B Fgood ritch TA. think they were the turring T/A's under mine and they worked great on everythign i put it in to.
I loved them but they dont hold protect the wheels on curbs real well at about 60MPH LOL
But now i have falkens under it for the 18" wheels that are under it now and they seem ok but i still am not real impreassed with them

I used to own a 2001 Grand Am that had Falken tires on it. I did not like them at all. I felt like they didn't grip the road well enough, they looked pretty good but the performance was nothing special.
Currently I have all season tires on my Monte, however if I invest in new rims, I'd put summer tires on those and just swap back to the old wheels in the fall/winter. Cars were not made for New England winters.

I have TripleTreds on my Malibu (Actually, it's an '05 classic) and they STICK to the road no matter what. I have Kumho Solus KR21's and they did great in the snow and awesome in the rain. Both sets are 85,000 mi tires.

I have National Ovations... they haven't done me wrong yet, but it's not a sports tire ya know...
They're good minivan tires.

Mine has some all seasons on it not terrible, but not real good for traction on dry road i can spin em goin like 15 if i floor it. I want somethin stickier since i dont drive it in the winter but the tires on it are brand spankin new and theres just all kinda problems with takin off new tires for almost no reason so i guess im livin with them for a while

I store my Monte, so it doesn't see winter. My street tires are Michelin Pilot A/S Sport. They literally kick ass. Awesome grip in dry and wet, good tread life. This will be my 3rd summer on them, and I still have 7/32s tread depth.

all season tires. the cooper cs4 tires i have on are really good in the snow. We don't get big dumps of snow frequently in the winter, and if it's too ugly out i'll just stay in the house or take transit anyway.

I got Michelin A/S Pilots on the 17" chromes for the winter. Good tires, but poor tire life. They will be replaced with Goodyear TripleTred tires this fall.
BFG G-Force KDWS 235-50-18's are on the summer Eagle 077's. Not a bad tire. The price was right.
Tires are my #1 expense! (other than mods)

I use cooper winter tires on 15" steel wheels for the winter. I have Pirelli Pzero Neros for my summer tires. They grip like nothing I have ever used. I cant even spin them when its raining outside. The RSAs I had on my stock wheels would spin from a stop every time and spin like crazy in the rain. Not the pirellis.

The first set of tires that were on the Monte when we bought it were these: Front 2: Yokohama Avid Touring, Driver's Side Rear: Eagle RSA, Pass. Side Rear: Wingred??? Pirelli makes a very good tire, there is no refuting that.

Hmm, thinking I might end up with some all seasons for the summer, all those summer tires said they can't be driving around freezing and there are times when it's 70 one day and 25 the next and I can't be having days where I can't drive my car because of the tires.

Hi `Garrett, & Member's,
I've been taught, and believe that Tires on your
car is one of your most important components to
consider on your vehicle. to wit: Monte Carlo LT3 : )
Tires are the only component of the car that actually touches the pavement.
Tires influence the braking, steering, comfort, handling, fuel efficiency and overall safety of every vehicle, but are often ignored or misunderstood by many consumers. Tires pound over potholes, careen off curbs and screech to a halt, etc.
I think this is one purchase that you should consider the
best tire that you can afford for the way you drive.
If you are driving a lot of Interstate High Speeds, I would
consider a Z-rated tire. It's pays to do your homework for sure : )
There are several tire sites, and consumer reports on most
tires and price. Again, I would purchase the best that you
can afford. It's the only thing that touches the pavement : )
Let us know, what you decide, Good Luck, `Space

If I could have afforded TripleTreds on the Monte I would have in a minute. But at $137/tire I didn't want them THAT badly. :o)

I ONLY use Goodyear tires when I replace my tires, I'm convinced they saved our lives (my wife and I). On a trip to Florida in my 1988 Grand Prix we caught something in the road (never saw anything) going about 85 MPH while passing another car on I-75 near Tampa. The tire just blew, but it held together well enough to get us from the passing lane to the side of the road, with NO damage to the rim or the car. The tire was absolutely shredded by then but it held together. Those were Eagle GT II's.
The Goodyear's might have a slightly higher price tag than other brands, but I truly believe in them. When you're talking maybe 10-20 bucks more per tire, it's worth it.

Well Dad took the initiative and looked up tires without me even saying anything so when I was home over the weekend he asked if I had heard of the TripleTreads, I said yeah, why. He tells me that he might buy me a set so it looks like those are what I may be going with, I'll probably know for sure next weekend. I'm excited :)

Just be SURE to have them rotated religiously. Because they are directional tires, for some reason they tend to cup easier than standard tires. I LOVE my TripleTreads on my '05 Malibu. I kid you not, I drove through 2 ft of snow on the roadway with those. They ARE noisier than a lot of other tires, but that is due to the harder compound they use to gain the 80,000 or 85,000 (I can't remember) mile treadlife and the way they keep the tire black. You'll like them though. Just make sure that the company balances your rim too and then the tire on the rim. Being that your car probably hasn't had any curb contact you probably won't have to worry about it.

Eagle f1 all seasons are really good. granted they are a wee bit expensive.
I just got rid of the factory Goodyear RSA's.
Don't have any traction in wet weather. I never liked them, even on my previous car.
Just got Toyo Versado LX's put on. It was dry today, and they feel great and have great traction on dry pavement so far. Gonna have to wait for a rainy day to see if they live up to their wet traction claims.

I went through the winter with the all-season Goodyear Eagles that came with the car when I bought it last August. The front-wheel drive of our Montes definitely helps in the snow. We didn't get too much snow here this winter, but actually, I can't remember when I last bought a pair of snow tires for my car.
Of course, I imagine you get a bit more snow out in Montana than we get here in NY, lol.
