I have seen alot of nice Monte's on here and alot of them are very unique. Mine is pretty much stock. So for the people who have stock Monte's what makes your ride stand out from the rest? Mine is Homer.

Laser Blue makes mine stand out......
The car is almost a year old and people still tell me how great looking the car is......

I would have to agree with Mrrench. The laser blue/silver combo makes mine stand out.I get compliments all the time. Also, just being a 2006 Monte Carlo makes it somewhat unique.I have only seen 2 others on the road in my area since I have had mine. One was white and one was black.

Not many people around here have montes.  The few that do probably dont even know what the word "mod" means.  The biggest standout for mine is probably my 12 inch long flowmaster ss tips and the slp grill.  I had a custom hood that was much like a trans am dual ram air, but I sold it when I went to college.  That was a badazz hood.

like LaserBlue and Mrrench - the color!! I get compliments all the time... also have done exterior de/re-badging, have SS emblems on the inside of the doors, I have the only one around my area - haven't seen another 06/07 yet!! ...and it's always clean -- had a guy at work ask me the other day - "how do you keep your car so clean??" I said.. "Duh, wash it/detail it." LOL she get's a bath/detail once a week... once every 2 weeks at the absolute most....

I took delivery of mine back on November 23rd 2005 (ordered in Oct. 2005)... so it's about a year and a half old, I have 30,xxx miles on it, and it still looks like it came off the showroom floor... see my PICS link in my sig to check it out.

My colour is new for 07, which makes it unique. I get lots of comments about the fact that it looks black in certain lighting, but the metallic purple really comes alive in bright sun.

The colour is great, but by far the most question and comments are for the wheels.

yah i like the wheels on your monte, those are the ones i would get if i got that 07 impala ss

I would say that because mine is an '06 SS which has the gray ground effects that is what makes it stand out.  It's cool when you see another SS out (doesn't happen often) it's kinda like anothe rmember of the family in my area.  Usually get a thumbs up and a wave.

I agree with Wiz....Rev's wheels are cool!  Wish my Monte had those, but can't bring myself to part with the $ to buy them...lol.

Good Question!  I think just having a Monte which we now know are not common cars gets a lot of looks and compliments.

There are a lot of  bronze Impalas but I've only seen 2 bronze Montes.  One LS and another LTZ that Space posted from car lot.

So when people first see the car they think, "Impala, no wait, it only had 2 doors.

My guess would be that having a large 2-door coupe is the most eye-popping feature.

Right on GPD. It's hard to find any reasonabe sized 2 door cars anymore. This is definitely one of the Montes' stand out features. It's almost impossible to make a 4 door car look "Sporty". They all look the same. About the only car brand I can think of at the moment that makes a fairly good looking 4 door is Volvo. Some of theirs look pretty good to me.

I don't know why, probably for aerodynamic reasons, most cars today look like they are nose heavy. Most have the high trunk, probably to create mor inside space, but very few cars today have a nice level body line from front to back. Personally, I hate the look of a car that looks like it's plowing snow. Oh well, the designers sacrifice style in the name of aerodynamics, and the extra .0005 mpg.

Rev, you had me LOL about the .0000005.  This is soooo true.

The only other almost current car that compares is no longer made.

It had my eye for a few years, but I wanted something newer.

The Eldorado still looks great because its discontinued.  I think the Monte will hold the same "eye candy" value.

I would say that they are common in certain areas. Chicago for example has them everywhere in every color. Going down one block you see at least three of them.

Well, I guess they had to end up somewhere.

Here in LA, I can guarantee you there are more Jaguars registered than Montes.

Well up until the time I started reading post on here I thought it was like that everywhere. Thats why I couldn't figure out why they were discontinuing it. That was a sad day

What makes my Monte stand out?

1. It's mine. :)

My '86 LS. What can I say. IT's COOL!!
I can tell you there aren't many (or any) like it around where I live. Maybe a few years ago there were 3 - 4 running around but none of them white.

My '06 LTZ?
So far I've seen like one other in my area. Infact I don't think I've seen many '06/07 Montes around me? Or maybe the owners are just keeping them in the garage all nice n clean like I do?
But as for styling, looks, appeal, or just plain cool factor there's no car like a Monte Carlo.

I have yet to see another 06/07 SS around here, let alone anything else with the rally stripes. Mustangs & Corvettes, on the other hand, are a dime a dozen around here.

Cheers,
Glenn

In response to GPD's remarks on the Eldorado,I read an article in 2000 about the "new generation" Monte Carlo, and the writer stated that with a loaded Monte Carlo you were basically getting a Cadillac Eldorado at half the price.

Yep. I think I also saw that article about the Monte being an Eldorado for half the price. I still wouldn't trade mine. The Eldorado can't match the "WOW" factor the Monte has.
