In response to GPD's remarks on the Eldorado,I read an article in 2000 about the "new generation" Monte Carlo,and the writer stated that with a loaded Monte Carlo you were basically getting a Cadillac Eldorado at half the price.

That's funny, I always thought that anyways.

...But we've got to give Cadillac their proppers. Its the Caddy and the Corvette brands keeping GM from going under permanently.

There's quite a few Montes around this area. Majority of them are SS's. I've seen a couple white ones as well. But none of them have the black spoiler like me! Or the Team Monte Carlo decal. And when I get my driving lights on, they'll make it stand out a little more with the 7 different colored Halos.

nothing i have stands out i feel left out. But if you would liek to you can look in the photo album on my car im sure somethign there is diffrent then others here. Or at least i hope so that ws the idea to make it mine not everyone elses.

lol R.J. I guess to me it is not one thing it is juast what i wanted to do to the car so to me it is not that spoecial. It is just a clean car to most folks that ahvent looked at it real close they woudl never know anythign about the rest of the stuff done to it

Being a Second Generation Monte Carlo makes mine stand out from the rest. I rarely see 73-77 Monte's around town. I mostly see 4th, 5th and 6th generation Monte's. Never any second generation, but if I do it is usually a beater.

Also, I am the only second gen at car shows. Out of the past 5 years I've been going to carshows I've only seen two other second gen Monte's. Both of them were 76's. One was red with a black half vinyl top and the other was maroon with a black half vinyl top. Everybody owns a Nova, Chevelle, Camaro, Mustang, Corvette, Challenger or GTO. Nobody owns a Monte Carlo, at least not my generation. Its nice to be different.

I'd like to find a decent 2000 - 2005 Monte with 50,000 - 60,000 miles on the clock for about $4500.

Probably won't happen will it?

haha, if you can find one for that cheap then It would be a jump-on-it deal...

I just paid $3400 for my 2000 Monte SS. Black with dark grey leather, and every option available. Of course, it is not a perfect, showroom fresh car, but it runs and looks great. The downside is that it has 163,000 miles on it.

Oh well, it drives great and I love it.

Then it's an 06 with the big engine and slash cut tips facing out. Dual exhaust helps. Mainly it sticks out because it's one of a one year run on engines, I just wish the color wasn't so darn popular! But then again red doesn't look as good as silver on the new front ends, not to mention silver's not as much of a cop magnet. My driving does enough of that! lol

If you read some of the info Space has posted about Montes, I was surprised to find out the 3.9 is listed as being one second slower in the 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile times vs the 5.3 V8.

hey R.J. ill seel ya mine with the brand new paint and everythig but it would have to be for more then that LOL
or just add another zero on to it. it has just under 40,000 on it. as i speak
