Really? wow mine dont even come half way to the center mark more like between 180 and ? if looking atthe dial it would be about 9:00 on it

think the only time i have seen mine get that high is when i was sitting in teh hot sn on a 80 deg. day waiting for a stau. to get over with the A/C on.

then from what I see, if you say yours is at the 9 o clock position, that's 140 degrees, the lowest it goes.

it should bring your temp down some if you get a 140 the car will normally run at 140 unless there is asomethign else you are dealing with that you dont know about right now.

But somthign to look at is if your adding alot of water to it (everey week or so)
or if you have oil in the water or water in the oil you might have a head gasket goign out on ya.

jsut watch it and your more then likly going to be good with that lower temp stat

that's what mine is at! Sounds normal to me

And no way would I put in a stat 50 degrees cooler than oem, that's just asking for problems. There are many reasons why the engines operate at the temperature they do, fuel economy, emissions, heating/cooling, etc.
