WizAired CAI for 3.9 owners.......It's coming !!

I sent an email to easyperformance.com the makers of the WizAired CAI's, inquiring as to whether or not they had planned on making a unit specific for us 3.5/3.9 owners. A few minutes after I sent the message I already had a reply from Jim Wierzbicki of easyperformance.com. He said the company definately wanted to make a product for us, however they did not have a 3.9 Monte/Impala to explore  fitment issues. He asked if I was interested in becoming their test mule for this and future products for us 3.9 owners. I of course jumped on this opportunity.They are sending me out a Generation 3 WizAired CAI from the 3800 application to test fit on my car.They beleive the applications should be pretty close.The only thing they needed from me was to but the K/N branded cone air filter, and to take any quality digital pictures of the install or problems that I encounter. Not a bad deal.
I will post again when I get this installed, along with pictures and any more information I get about this and future products.Hang in there fellow 3.9 owners, the parts are coming!! Just taking a little longer than even I had hoped for.

No sir it wasn't free.I got if for 1/2 price.i still think it was an awesome opportunity.I mentioned in my reply e-mail to easyperformance.com about this website and all the great people that post on this board. They were excited to build this intake for us.

I believe once I get the dude to fit properly, that 3.5 and 3.9 owners should both be able to use this CAI.

I have been in contact with easyperformance.com, and have been told my test package is being filled and will ship out very shortly.I had to send in measurements of our throttle body inlet,MAF inlet and outlet, and distance from where the fender and radiator support meet, to the throttle body inlet.Just wanted to keep my 3.5/3.9 peeps in the know!I will take pictures as soon as it arrives.

Space: Thanks for the kind words.I do not have a quarter mile time for the 3.9. I promise to take pictures of the CAI before and after it is installed in the Monte.

Yeah, I've only ever seen one other Monte that was the same color as mine but it was only an LS or lower LT model. I wasn't much for the color when I got it, but it has really grown on me.

I think white is the best color, but I'm a partical, what can I say, lol.  But yeah, can't wait for that intake, I'll be getting one asap

I like the laser blue montes... Was thinking about trying a black base coat with a red pearl tint in the clear coat, don't know how that would have turned out though. I wonder how many of us 3.5/3.9 owners would go in on a group buy? I'm pretty sure I would given that we could do it at a decent price.

I am starting to see a few FlexFuel models in our color lately, but no LTZ's or LT3's.
 
I have also seen many, many Impalas in all models in our Amber Bronze color.

Another thing about Out amber bronze color, is the cops on highway dont give you a second look. its kinda nice. 

Hey have you got the intake in yet?  Just wondering, waiting to get one for my car.

The intake just arrived today via UPS. It looks just like the 3rd greneration 3800 kit to my eyes, however the instructions have been changed for the 3900.I will be installing and taking pictures tomorrow.If I don't need to make any changes to the kit or instructions, this will be available to the general public in very short order. Check this post for pictures and my overall opinion of the product tomorrow !!

Can't wait to find out how well it works, my exhaust is screaming for some more air to flow through it, although it has mellowed out just enough.

I hear that, can't wait for it.  Gets some more power to this motor.  Let us know, I'll be buying one asap.  Also god_bot what do you have done to your car?

Mostly just cosmetic stuff, but I did get a pair of FlowPro's on my car, sound almost like Flowmasters but they allow more flow to come through. That with the resanator delete and two 3" chrome tips - I'd rather have a nice set of black powder coated one, only ran me about $290. I'll have to get some new pictures up sometime...
