'Space... haven't you ever heard of the SMART car?
All SMARTS get atleast 60 mpg. They were at the North American Auto Show a few years back.
Yes `Duane -Cowboy-,
I may not be `smart (4-Sure: ), but I know about the Smart Car.
The one posted was battery powered : )
I posted a thread about the Smart when they
just started making them.
Chris, I know that the Smart isn't the safest little car
on the road, but when we go with a smaller/lighter car,
it's not going to be as safe : (
I think it is safer then a motorcycle or bike : )
I'd drive one `if they gave me one : )
But I think a person in a Smart Car, & a semi truck driven by
Mod `Mickey
wouldn't stand a chance in a crash
.
I don't think there would `be much of a future for the
person in the Smart...Not to Smart : )
`if they crashed

Now, back to the `Future

the smart looks tough.... the passengers could have survived if they had their seat belts on (for those who don't watch the vidoe, these were test crashes), i've known people to walk from worse

I share my class assignment/research
with the MCF Member's.
Below has some great information.
How high will the cost of fuel become ?
How much will we have to pay for a gallon
of `gas ? Will we be able to afford to drive
the awesome Chevrolet Monte Carlo ?

~ Our Future ~

Everyone's worried about oil, but new tech can tap more U.S. resources than you think.
America @ $100/Barrel We look at the world's resources—how long they'll last and what we can do about it—and visit a high-tech rig in the search for more oil at home.

'Survival of the fittest'?
or
Survival of the Richest ?
or
Survival of the Smartest ?
Man is a social animal and this point can never be over emphasized. We live in a world where in general, people 'eat sleep and drink' the philosophy that in order to survive, you need to do whatever it takes.
Oh, and we drive our Monte Carlo's when we can afford $ to purchase the `fuel : )
We have bosses/superiors, who make life difficult for their subordinates, simply to hang on to their own posts. We find countries waging wars simply to safe guard their world dominance. We see people trying to undercut each other's religious beliefs simply out of insecurities or non belief. We find different races trying to dominate others based on skin color and Economic status. We see developed nations turning a blind eye to the nations where people lead lives with a standard of living far below the standards a household dog or cat might enjoy in a more developed country.
Survival based on mutual co-operation might be a far better solution than the alternative, purely because man needs his fellow man/women to survive.
Let us hope that it doesn't take a worldwide crisis to drive that point home.
It's our future, and our children's future.
What am I doing to make it better ?
What are you ?
