Default Resonator Delete

Hey whats up guys, my next move is deleting my resonator and putting on the flowmaster super 44's. Just wondering if anyone has removed their resonator on the 06 and above years? Please only people with the V8's. I was wondering if deleting the resonator made the check engine light go off at all? and did it mess with the o2 sensors at all? Thanks guys!

It would not trigger the check engine light. You are not messing with the Cat and that would be the only thing that would. I was considering doing this or removing the mufflers, since it would be cheap. If you do this I hope you post a video or sound clip.

Have you looked at this forum?

Here is a link to a utube video showing a 2006 monte carlo ss before and after the resonator was removed and what it sounds like.

I personally think it sounded better with it on, without it it sounds very tinnie to me.

I thought that would have sounded A LOT better than it does. I wonder if he was reving when the engine was cold or something. I may not be going this route anymore.

I wonder how the Magnaflow cat-back would sound without the resonator. I have heard that it is a pretty tame cat-back, but I wonder if removing the resonator from it would improve or hurt the sound. Just like it seems to have done in the video above.
