Another problem I have in my '97 MC LS is that my gas guage doesn't read the level of my tank once it gets down to half a tank. Once it gets down to half sometimes it will show me the level of the gas when I first start the car but it will then go between 1/2 and 3/4 on the guage. I use my trip odometer to know when I need to fill up but it gets a little annoying. I had talked to some guy that was selling a new tank assembly and he said that there is some card in the assembly that is causing the problem. Anyone have experience with this problem? Thanks, Rob

Gm has had problems with there gas guages for awhile, i wouldnt worry about it. The first time you have to price out that sending unit from gm and find out the $200 unit didnt fix the problem, filling up by the trip wont bother you nearly as much. FYI, in my cutlass ciera i just fill at 350-400 miles and my gas guage has read anywhere from empty to 5/8 full with very little gas in the tank. HTH
