Got my car back and the dealer couldnt replicate the rattle. They offered that I could take one of their techs out and drive it and show him the noise that I am talking about. I'll have to go back tomorrow and take a tech out in the car. I'll keep updating as things happen.

Ok my door rattle is getting really bad now, almost any uneven pavement is causing the driver's side door to rattle. Has anyone been able to solve this problem yet? I dont feel comfortable taking the door panel off so any other suggestions would be great. I am going to try and take the car in to the dealer for the 2nd time about the same problem. Ill have to go on a day that I can take a tech out in the car with me. I'll update as I have more information on the car.

Steve

I have the same problem in my 2003. There is a bulletin on 2000 models, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't apply to a later model year.. The design is essentially the same. The noise may be from lack of lubrication to the back side of the window regulator. I know how frustrating it is trying to tell someone that there is a noise, and then having them tell you that they couldn't find anything. It isnt hard to remove the panel if you want to do it.

-There should be a screw by the door lock switch bezel. Remove screw and pull out bezel. You will need to remove the connector behind it.
-Pull up the liner that is in the little cup by the armrest to access screws below.
-To remove the panel, start at a bottom corner and pull.. The clips will be hard to remove because the panel has never been removed before. When you have separated the panel from the door, you will then have to get behind it to remove the electrical connectors for the window switch.
-You will then have to pull down the water deflecor, the plastic sheet covering the inside of the door, This is best done using a razor blade to separate the tacky adhesive from the door.
- Once you are done, you then look inside to see if anything obvious is loose. If not, go for a drive to see if you hear the noise. If not, it is most likely door panel related. If you do hear the noise, you will just have to use your hear to figure it out... look, listen, and feel around

had this exact problem with mine...  it's the 2 metal rods behind the door panel hitting each other...  there's 2 plastic clips that are supposed to hold them apart and support them...  the rods pop out of the clips pretty easily apparently...  cuz they fixed mine the last time, and 2 days later it was doing it again.

don't forget to try another dealer, and when your booking it into service let them know you came to their dealer for them to have a look at it. dealers are always looking to steal buisness from others. also don't be afraid to ask a service manager to take a test drive with you as well.

I have a similar problem with my driver door.  Mine sounds like the door panel is loose.  It creaks when I put any kind of pressure on the panel.  Like opening/closing the door, or putting my arm on the arm rest while driving.  It sounds like it's coming from the area where the red reflector is.  Is there a screw behind the reflector, or is it just more plastic pins?

I think I'm going to take it to the dealer to look at anyway, since something is definitely is not right inside the door.  The car came with the windows already tinted, and I noticed a lot of vertical scratches over half the length of the window.  I plan on getting all the windows retinted in the spring, except the back window because of the rear defogger lines.  The original tint was a 30-35% with a blue-ish color to it.  When I bought the car, the dealer redid the passenger door because it was badly peeling.  Of course, they did it with the standard grey-ish color tint.  And it's badly obvious.  I'm taking it to an awesome detailing place here in town that does excellent tinting work in the spring and putting 20% on the doors and back seat windows.  But I'm going to show the dealer the scratches on the driver's door tint first to prove there's something wrong inside the door.

Sorry for rambling.  I've also had more than my fair share of, "we didn't find anything wrong" stories from the dealer.

I just bought a used '06 Monte Carlo LT1 last week, and I am having the same problem.  Of course the dealership is on an evenly paved highway, so there were no sounds during the test drive.  As soon as I turn on to my road, it starts up.  I am going to attempt to take it to the local dealer, but I am not sure what I should tell them?  Have we all confirmed it the the plastic rod separators?  I love my Monte Carlo by the way guys!  Seeing as my last car was a Cavalier, it's a huge upgrade for me.
