yah, chevy trucks go forever, we had 2 s10's at work that ran for over 750,000 km on them and they were still running strong :)

especially with the oil changes every 50,000 km :)  lol

That's right!!  When I sold my 1990 Z71, she had 196,000 miles and not a complaint.  You can't touch a Chevy 350 short block.  I did things with that truck that people said were impossible.  One time, I was helping out my step-dad with his plumbing business.  We needed to lug 1.7 tons of marl from the quarry on the other side of the island.  We put a tarp in the bed and the bulldozer dumped in all the marl.  All it did was level out my suspension!!  I have been told that you should not place more than 1000lbs in the bed of that truck.  This was almost 4 times that!

I don't care what anybody says, Chevy trucks are untouchable.

now that doesnt make sense because the 305 and the 350 are exactly the same block with a few minor differences, so someone that tells you that a 305 is now where near as good as a 350 doesn't know what theyre talking about

I wanted to address 06montess comment about not buying foreign because he wants his $$$ to stay here so he buys domestic.  I want to know if he has ever taken a serious look under his hood, chassis, heck anywhere on his car?  You'll find tons & I mean tons of parts that are FOREIGN meaning NOT made in USA.  So the old attitudae of buying domestic because the money stays here is way outdated.  I don't want to start anything but I really don't like that mindset.

yah, but you also gotta look at the quality of the parts coming from over in asia, not to say anything bad, but i work in the aftermarket business, and anything that is made in asia is considered cheap ie. rotors, pads, chassis...etc.  and in most cases this is what comes on the vehicle in the first place, but then you buy parts that are made in the good ole U.S of A and they're great quality with lifetime warranty on them, asian parts cant offer that on any of their parts because after about 1 year they're garbage

thats why when i have to change parts on my vehicle i put raybestos brakes on, moog chasis and suspension parts, not offshore products, because the namebrand stuff lasts a  lot longer
