...do you have to be the original owner to get this replaced from the dealer?
No.

well a bad pcs could cause a harsh shift a soft shift, shudder, harsh shift from park and erratic shifts. as far as characteristics of this problem as to when it will do it is hard to say because if the pressure is high it may react differently than as if it had sent the pressure high. the pcm will show a code directly to the pcs. it is located inside the transmission behind the transmission side cover where the drivers side axel shaft passes through. so it is an intense job.

Is this where the TCS is located?

If so it is a mother.

So would a miss feel be a lack of or too much pressure? I guess it could be either huh..

Thanks for the info Chevy......

the traction control system runs off of your wheel speed sensors and as it senses a change in speen under power it will send info to the pcm and the brake control module and they will reduce the engine power. as far as the transmission i do not beleive it has an affect with traction control.

Are there a couple of solenoids/relays behind that panel? That is interesting; I was under the impression the TC system controlled speed through the trans when engaged. But now that I think about it your right, when my TC engages the engine RPM's decrease. I learn something new everyday..lol

hahaha, that was my best educated guess. But after I got done typing it, I said "nah, that's not it" On my Honda, we called it a ECU, Electronic Control Unit.
