I am in the process of replacing the thermostat in my 1972 monte.
I pulled the old one out....looks as if it had never been replaced.ugh!
badly rusted..question is this....was there supposed to be an o-ring
that goes between the thermostat and the metal surface where it seats?
if so where can i get one?seems to me there should be one there so there is not metal to metal contact...

Tanks

Hey Rick,

Welcome to the Monte Carlo forum!!!

I have never seen an o-ring that requires replacement when replacing the thermostat. The thermostat housing should keep the thermostat in place once tightened down.
