i have a 99 Z34 3.8 monte and my buddy has a 01 mustang 3.9 do u guys think i have a chance i can leave the grand prixs and grand ams in the dust let me know

the 01 mustang v6's arent that fast... i know the new v6 run mid to low 15's which would be a very close run for your Z and possibly beat it. but i think the 01's arent as fast as the new ones.

I beat an 02 V6 Mustang. However, a few things must factor into this. 1. He was a 16 year old who had just recieved his license the previous week 2. He had flowmaster mufflers put on. Stock they are 2.5", his are 3.5" from the manifold back with 3" tips. He basically shot himself. He lost probably 25-30 lbs-ft of torque. He says he's going to get that fixed, putting 2.5" MAC system on it. O well. He's already looking at throttle body, retuned computers, chips, intake systems, and the etc. for it. He just can't stand it. I beat him in a hlaf mile race by about 10 car lengths.
