FAST track close by. It's a HUGE thrill watching these open wheel cars going into turn 1 three and four wide, wheel to wheel at 220mph! We was there Aug 5th for the last Indy car race ever there . So now they are running at Detroit's Belle Isle, an old track revived by Penske. Drivers describe it as extremely bumpy and too narrow to pass. I only watched about 1/3 of the race (mowing outside), but what I did see, there was only ONE attempted pass, and that was the last one where Dixon tried to pass Rice, and took out Franchini in the process! POOR racing! Fans had to take a shuttle bus over because of no parking. Stands weren't full. In my opinion, IRL took an exciting fast race from MIS and exchanged it for a p__s poor race with no passing without wrecking, and a race that you cannot see completely from the stands. We are still fans of the IRL, but they lost us on this one. Our favorite racing:  Craftsman trucks. Dixon, runs out of fuel on final lap : ( and finished 2nd  in Championship Sam Hornish finished 3rd (Sam's coming 2 NASCAR : ) $ One Million Dollar's to the Winner $   It was a Super Race "Chicagoland Indy 300"  Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill.
