They will probably work ok, but not optimal.  The spark is too cold... it could cause misfires, and cause your plugs to wear out too quick.  Your gap will widen, and you'll end up seeing more misfires later on.

I made 234whp with no headers, and stock TB... when I added headers, I hit almost 250whp... still on 104 plugs with 10k miles on them.  :-)

What was your mod list for that?

234whp - CAI, 180*t, 104 plugs, 3"DP, hi-flo cat, u-bend/res removal, 3.4" pulley, DHP v1.0 PCM, no special tuning, WPUD pulley.

Add TOG headers, no other tuning, still canned PCM, 249whp.

Which (If either) will give me more power Downpipe with the resonator removed or downpipe keep the resonator and replace the stock mufflers? If its a toss-up I'd rather have the car sounding sweet outside.

The resonator is restrictive, as is the u-bend.  Get rid of both, keep your stock mufflers. Your stock mufflers are non-restrictive up until you pass 300whp.  The sound is not too bad at all.  If you must change your mufflers for the sound, it won't affect your performance whatsever, but if you leave the resonator, you can chop the mufflers off, and it still won't help things, because your resonator is choking things up, causing boost stacking, and higher temps in your manifolds... that's a perfect breeding ground for KR..

Hope that helps explain things.

Causing boost stacking,

A HORRIBLE term someone made up from CGP. =)

But perfect for describing it....

And those mod's are great, for a 3.4 pulley. During the tune, I ran a 3.6.

I put the 3.5 on AFTER the tune. so who knows what kinda HP I run now..

Probably not much more, unless you re-tuned.  With each change in induction, your existing tune will react differently, throw off your fuel trims, causing inefficiency, or possibly even KR if the fueling isn't right.  Should have tuned with the pulley that you planned on running.  If you were seeing any KR at all with the 3.6, you'll be seeing alot more if you go with a smaller pulley.

Did you do any scans for KR on the road with the 3.6, 3.5 or only while on the dyno?

Great that explains alot. I'll add the downpipe and pull the resonator (Much cheaper than new mufflers). Along with the CAI I should be fine for now. What do I need to do if it does throw a P0420?

isn't that the code to smoke a joint (420).

Seriously though, that work shouldn't make you throw a code unless your cat has a problem, or your sensor is bad.  I'd also recommend going with a 3" hi-flo cat.... find a 3" In/Out for $75.... since you're doing that whole section anyways, going 3" from the DP to past the resonator will help alot with getting the exhaust out.

ZZP has a 3" downpipe with a magnaflow hi flow cat which is what I'm going to order. I plan on taking the Monte to my local Midas and have them replace the resonator with a section of exhaust pipe.
