Bowyer Wins Richmond Written by Kerry Murphey May 03, 2008 at 08:44 PM (I didn't get 2 watch/listen 2 the Race because of work) Member's, how did you do on your picks ? Denny Hamlin dominated this race, leading 381 laps, but a cut tire sent him to a 24th place finish. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was just a handful of laps away from ending his 2 year (to the race) winless drought, but tangled up with Kyle Busch and the 88 was wrecked. Dale Jr. finished 15th. In the end it was Clint Bowyer picking up his second career Cup victory in the #07 car. Here's how the top 10 stacked up from Richmond International Raceway. 1 Clint Bowyer 2 Kyle Busch (new points leader) 3 Mark Martin 4 Tony Stewart 5 Martin Truex Jr. 6 Ryan Newman 7 Carl Edwards 8 Kevin Harvick 9 Jeff Gordon (battled from a lap down) 10 Kasey Kahne Other Stories on the day -Hamlin led 381 laps, a flat tire sent him to 24th. Denny was parked for 2 laps after intentionally creating a caution -Michael Waltrip was parked for the end of the race for pushing Casey Mears for some reason -A huge Talladega-like wreck claimed a bunch of cars like Dave Blaney, J.J Yeley, Patrick Carpentier, Michael McDowell, Regan Smith, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Jeff Burton, Kurt Busch, Juan Pablo Montoya, and others.
