Has anyone heard of having to elongate the strut mounting holes to have the car aligned? The tech at firestone tells me the holes for the camber bolts need to be elongated to be properly adjusted.

That sounds fishy to me. I mean I know Chevrolet might not be the brightest crayon in the box, but Im sure they would set up the car so you dont have to take a grider to the suspension to line it up. And firestone? Come on. They are right up there with jiffy lube and NTB in my book. Seems like any monkey with two brain cells can work there and thats pretty much all you get. Firestone techs may be a little more qualified, but I still wouldnt take my car there.

You shouldn't have to elongate the holes to get alignment into spec unless something is damaged or bent. If the car has lowering springs, KYB and Eibach make camber kits to get more adjustment
on the alignment, they are available as a bolt kit for a + or - 1.75 deg and another kit which looks like an offset for the upper mount or the lower ball joint for more if needed, I've only seen pictures of this part so I can't tell for sure. But elongating the holes is NOT the way to fix it.

I''ve been told that needs to happen. The rear camber is non adjustable. Put a camber kit on it and try again.

some of the lower strut holes are "oval" in shape to allow better camber adjustment. My alignment guy was going to enlongate the hole in my one front strut, but just happened to have an extra aftermarket camber bolt in his tool box! thank God!! The KYB struts Don''t have the "oval" holes in ''em! :(

the Kyb adjuster bolts make the rear camber adjustable, just put them in my Intimiditor with Eibach pro kit and Kyb Agx''s, the GMPP handling kit goes in this week so far big difference
