I have after market wheels and my wheel studs broke i replaced the myself but over and over again studs keep braking on both the left and right front wheels and it only happens to the fron, i want to know how do i take the hub off a 2000 monte carlo ss before i took the big nut thats in the middle of the hub but the hub didnt come off. Really i wanna know why the studs keep braking and how do i take the hub off

think there is a diy here for the front hubs on the 6th gens. not sure on it.

As for the studs backing off. did you get them seated real good? I have seen where they were not seated good and they would float enough to allow the lugnut to back off some resulting in a lose wheel again.

Other wise you can always use some blue locktight. dont use the red .

or replace the stud again. or even try a diffrent lug nut on it see if it is doing it then. might have a cracked lug nut allowing it to flex enough to losen up.

What bolt pattern wheels do you have.  If they are the 5X114.3 that might be a cause of it with the turning of the wheels.  Are you torquing them to 100ft lbs?  Once the wheels broke the studs you probable egged out the holes and the lug nuts won''t tighten properly anymore.

I''m thinking the same thing...  I would double check the bolt pattern.  Also use a dial caliper and get the size of the oem holes, then measure the distance from one lug to an opposing.  Verify they are the same with the aftermarket set.
