Hey I''m open to suggestions for brakes. I added the 02 Camaro front brake calipers, Axxius pads, Goodridge lines all the way around and new drilled and slotted rotors. However I would like to upgrade the rear calipers. Any suggestions for them? Plus I read the drilled and slotted rotors are not good in the long run as they are prone to cracking and such. What do you think of using Brembo''s or another rotor and then having them "Cryo-treated"? I think this is the direction I''m moving. LMK

I have added the 02 Camaro 4 piston calipers to the frone,drilled / slotted rotors,axxius pads,Goodridge lines all the way around and am using the A.T.E. "Super Blue" race brake fluid. What I have not seen is an upgrade for the rear brakes, do you have any suggestions or them, would love to see them. SSMOKYBEAR I looked at your Impala site and article you linked. WOW, you be one busy man. Read the whole article, ex law enforcement man,all the time on the BMW road course designing a sway bar set up, etc. Well done! Sweet ride brother, very cleaned up looking.

Thats the bad thing about race shops that have no experience in the 3800 world- they don''t really know the capabilities. The guys at the shop that did the work for my engine said the same thing- that they reccomended a forged crank, and forged rods. Its simply because they are used to sbc/bbc and such and they don''t truly know anything specifically about the engine. I had them polish the sides of the rods, and just let it go (I used regular cast ones as I''m not a big fan of powdered metal). The only other thing I would probably think about is that gen 3 diff. They don''t really have the best reputation in the world. I personally would consider going with the GM Torsen unit (or a Quaife)- both are leaps and bounds better than the Intense diffs. What size turbo are you running (sorry if I missed it), and also what cam? Best of luck to you with your build!
