I beleive a Turbo charged system is better. Reliable as hell, not everybody and their dog is doing the V-8 Turbo. Scope out mY Turbocharged Monte V-6, it screamed with a T-3 turbo, after it gets back with the T-4 next week it''s going to be a killer.

Just something about a Turbo !!!   PPSSSSSHHHHH!!!

seems like Car Tuning, which also makes a kit for the 3.8, make a good turbo kit for your 5.3''s for around $3 big ones.  i''ve heard some horror stories on their customer support... but i''ve heard more people talk good about them, so it''s your call.  just keep in mind you''re putting a lot of pressure on your cylinders, don''t turn the boost up too high without supporting mods and you should be okay.  o yeah, check the hp ratings for the tranny... no idea what they are on your V8''s

Go to ZZP Performance for a turbo, they use Garrett and other quality parts or have a local shop who specializes in race cars using Superchargers,Turbos,NOS build you one like I did. Like Cowboy says, I to have not heard good about Cartuning customer support. Supposed to be almost a 1 man show, so he''s to busy to assist. GO TURBO!! probably set you back $5000 to $6000 with a few bells and whistles.

ZZP''s turbo is for a 3.8... i don''t think they make one for the 5.3, but they may be able to figure up something for you.

well id imagine the gas mileage wit the 5.3 would be horrific...turbo it and add power plus a lil better gas milage, with gas prices these days it should make up the money difference pretty quickly

whats gas mileage.. im getting between 18 and 22 depending on how i drove that week and if took highway home or village.. plus needing 91 octane or higher and most only carry 93 which is fine cause the few who have 91 serve 93 which only cost 2 or 3 cents more go figure i never used 87 before i always used 89 with my vechiles just like idea cleaner gas or whatever it does but 87 to 89 cost like 10 cents but 91 to 93 cost like 2 or 3 cents how odd to even serve 91.. but yea last summer when just got car 93 was 3.56 cost me like mid 50 dollar range now costing me easliy 10 more bucks while only getting between 300 to 330 miles per tank.. but heck u cant have a toy car and good gas mileage as well..
